DISCIPLE OF CHRIST

All believers in Jesus Christ are called to be his disciples, the word ‘disciple’ means ‘learner’ or ‘student’.

A disciple of Jesus will put him first in all things (Mark 8:34-38) also a disciple of Jesus needs to be and must be set apart from the world.

To follow Jesus means “to walk the same road,” and implies that we are to continue in that walk. A disciple is a person who accepts and assists in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ. Matthew 4:19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

A disciple of Christ will live there life in love for another, the Bible tells us this in the book of John 13:35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

In the pursuit of following Christ example we have to make choices that will encourage or discourage the people in the circle of life in which live, the key to a being a disciple of Christ is to live our life in Love, read 1 Corinthians 13 1:13

The choices are to live in – Forgiveness or unforgiveness – Faith or Fear – Peace or Worry – Belief or Doubt the list goes on, a disciple of Christ is to follow in his example.

In every area of our lives we should be reflecting Jesus, not our will but yours be done, also putting Jesus first we must learn to remove our self-centredness and live in a Christ-centred life, as a true disciple of Christ.

Water baptism is your formal pledge or commitment to Christ. First we believe in Jesus, and then we are baptised. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
